Patanchi

The series of the Patanchi are all works on paper. The name of these works derives from the philosophical concept of pataphysics by the French symbolist playwright Alfred Jarry and from the homonymous book La Patafisica by Enrico Baj. The Patanchi are imaginary figures that exist only on “the horizon of events”, the upper limit of black holes.

Here, according to Einstein’s theory of relativity, the rules of time and space vary according to the point of observation.

These are works made with acrylic colours. They represent the different adventures of these imaginary men in pictorial representations of Marco’s dreams and fantasies.

This series includes about 40 works of variable sizes from 80cm × 60cm and 40cm × 30cm.
